Came across this on the top flight website. My auto window down works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.Came across these and though holy ****, look at the pric difference. What am I missing?
As long as I've had a C5 there has been a very large (and counter-intuitive) difference between with memory and without memory. Not to this degree, but always a big difference. I imagine it's entirely due to supply and demand. GM must have made far more of the with memory version.
When it doesn't work try moving the wires around in the accordian tube and see if it starts working
Well the switch works but the auto feature is sketchy. Not a big enough issue to force the sale of the car but I just like everything to work the way it was designed...

I have the memory function in my car, so I have not looked for the non-memory switch before. However, $500 seems beyond insane to me. I feel like a memory switch could probably be made to work in a non-memory car. The memory buttons just wouldn't work. You might also want to contact Top Flight and confirm with them if that price is correct. If they say that it is, point out the MUCH cheaper options and ask why.
The problem is the OP needs the panel sans memory buttons. That, apparently, changes things dramatically where the "Corvette tax" is concerned. I'd go with the typo idea, if it didnt have the old price with a line thru it right next to the sale price. The other problem is if he installs the memory panel in a non memory car, I'm sure it could be made to work. But down the road if he wants to sell it, if I'm a potential buyer, it would be a red flag. I'd wonder what else wasn't working, and if it wasn't, why? Does it have the climate control HVAC display in a regular HVAC car? Everyone is different, but I'd fix it the right way. My .02.

Are there any issues with using a memory switch on a non-memory car? Are the wire harneses different? I wouldn't imagine there'd be any problems with a new switch that had memory unless there's a harness issue

Probably not. But if I was buying it, I'd wonder why the memory didn't work!
