Default No VATS Key

I disabled the VATS on my car and wanted to get a couple extra keys made, without the chip. All the non-chipped keys look like they are shorter. Does anyone know if there is a key that will work?

The key blanks with the chip are pretty cheap. If you've disabled the VATS then any of them should work just fine. If you wanted. I suppose you could always remove the chip.

How was you able to disable it, that’s something I would like to do but didn’t think it was possible, and why couldn’t you use the same key ? Thanks

Take a resistance measurement off the key with a checker, order a variable resister online that fits the range of your key. Once the resister shows up, tune the resister by turning a small **** on the side to the same measurement of the key, then wire it in series with the 2 wires coming out of the vats unit. Really easy man, there is probably a write up on this site for sure. Good Luck!

Sounds more like a bypass as opposed to a disable

I measured the resistor in the key, purchased the right one and plugged it in to the harness that comes out of the front of the ignition switch. You can also have it disabled if you get a tune done.
