Default LED DRL’s only?

I hate the cloudy, milky stock DRL’s. I’m not crazy about LED’s, I just don’t want the new clear housings to melt. My son who is also a C5 owner says it will look terrible with just the LED DRL’s and nothing else. Looking for input. Thank you

You can get them from forum vendor Vette-Lights and get 10% off and I believe free shipping

Is your son on the forum? Sounds like he's pretty active with his C5 and should join the community here

If you go with a stock style clear housing and a LED bulb, you will need a Hyperflash Harness or resistors.
This will look very good, not terrible. I've ran this setup for years.

Let me rephrase the question. I’m looking at changing the corner lights to leds. No other leds on the car. Is this a bad look?

I think it would be just fine with only LEDs up front. I have switchback LED bulbs in new housings (with hyper-flash harness) and everything else is stock. I may eventually swap the tails with halo-type ones and maybe the side markers, but just don't feel like spending the $$ right now.

Get the hyper-flash harness with whatever LED setup you go with - that way you can change more later to LED and it's ready to go.

It will look just fine. I kept all of the other housings stock. I later added LED bulbs to the rear as I wanted something brighter with the tint I had applied.

As the previous poster said, get the hyperflash harness in the event of further upgrades.

I am going to switch backs up front to just remove the heat and housing damage. Also to add the driving light option. They look fine. I really don't care about the others. I will do the 3157 and I will add the amber side marker light too.

My motive is just to keep from melting more housings.

FYI Summit Racing has a stock replacement housing and mounting bracket that is really good and cheap.

Another option would be to move the DRL function to another location. Our Dedicated LED DRL system does just that:

You will be fine with just LED corners but once you improve, you will want to complete the upgrade. Make sure you install a hyper flash harness underneath the steering column to trick the brain of the C5.

I think your car would look just fine with only the corner lights in LEDs.
