Default broken emblem

Well the inevitable finally happened. While blowing off the dust on my car, the red part of the hatch emblem blew off, and I then noticed that the black outline was peeling and cracked worse than I thought. Wondering what others have done regarding replacements or other ideas.
Thanks!

I replaced the one on my trunk lid earlier this year when I accidentally broke one of the flag arms washing the car. I replaced it with another OEM logo. Pricier than some aftermarket options, but the first one lasted 20 years so I will stick with what works.

IMO, your choice is to just buy another embleem that does not have any issues (can be new or a used one that would require you to put some double sided tape on to adhere it to the car) or see if someone has the inserts from other emblems that you could get and just put them on using some glue.

Search it and you'll find replacements from 17.99 to $200 or more. It's your choice. I replaced my original rear and it did not come off with dental floss or fishing line underneath. It was as if it had adhered to the paint. I hand picked as much off as I could then started the forever process with Goo Gone and a variety of othet compounds over and over and over. When it looked ckean, I could still see the halo, so I kept going. Mine lived in Florida so it was probably baked in. I just noticed the front one was missing a piece aftet washing. At first glance it doesn't seem nearly as adhered. Maybe yours will be easier.

Thanks folks, I just ordered a set, so we will see how it works out. The rear one’s ‘legs’ have been peeling for a year, so it’s time.

I was able after some searching to find an exact set of front and back and side fender 50th Anniversary emblems to have "Just in Case " to have and got them from the auction site and they are brand new OEM stock and they weren't all that expensive. It takes some looking and a little patience but you can find a deal on them.

I ended up leaving it off, could not see paying the price for an OEM one. I did replace the front one however, it was missing a wing and part of the color.

If I didn’t have a stripe back there which surrounds the emblem, I might have left it off. However, I found a decent deal on Ebay with a change in style.
