Took a chance, but am so excited with the results.
Had the stock rim's curb rash repaired, powder coated glossy black along with the calipers painted magnetic red.
New tires, Micheline Sport All Season 4. Can't say enough about the improvement in the ride. These tires are amazing. Smooth and quiet. Fantastic grip.
Yes, I did think of doing so. I know someone has domed emblems that even come in magnetic red, but none in stock at the moment.
I even thought of rim guards, but am going to pass on that idea.
For now, I'm going to enjoy the look as sometimes "less is more".
Love your yellow!!

Thanks. My C6 & C7 were yellow as well.... Whatever you do..DO NOT USE RINGUARDS. They look cool new but A) if you have to change a tire, the rimguard will get torn up and you'll have to buy a whole new kit and B) if you decide to remove them set aside a whole afternoon to get the glue off without damaging the rim.......ask me how I know......
Oh no...was the strip the cause of the tows?? My rim guy said the potential is there for them to cause damage. There is a product here in Canada that I was looking at that doesn't use any tape or glue. You deflate the tire and they clip onto the rim. Reinflate the tire and they are on. Just don't see a matching colour, plus I'm happy without them. Here is their website should someone be interested for any vehicle: https://rimprotectorcanada.ca/
The tow was for a busted shifter bushing on the transmission.....I would think even deflating the tire to install still presents the issue of if damaged, do you have to buy the whole set?

I believe you cut to length.
I had the exact same thing happen to me last year. Not fun seeing your Vette towed away.
