Have not driven the C5 much for a while, today got it out of garage to go get emissions test, on way there was a bumpy/rough road and heard what I think were rear shocks squeaking/chirping.
The car seems to drive fine, but really no way to know if new shocks would make a huge difference, they are the special shocks that have the **** on console with 3 settings, I think option F45.
Is C6 Z06 shocks still the budget way to go?
Planning on putting headers I bought for it, LS6 intake manifold, send ECM to ECS supercharging for a mail order tune, change fluids etc, might as well replace shocks.
I remember reading need a tech 2 tool, or wire in resistors to keep codes away from not having factory shocks.
It only made the funny (comical) sound on a section of road that was very rough, so maybe they are ok, car is a 1999 vert with 95k miles.

Have a tech check out the shocks if you are unsure. If the F45 shocks are bad, they are very expensive to replace so an alternative is the C6 Z06 shocks.
Where you can start is changing the modes and see if you can tell a difference. This will not tell you if they are worn out but will prove out that they work or not. The short answer is 95k on shocks there will definitely be some wear but is it enough to justify replacing is really up to how well you like the ride quality.
Are there any negatives to c6 z shocks I have not done much research on it.
