Default Clutch inspection

Does anyone know how to inspect the clutch on a C5? I've removed the inspection panel. Should I somehow measure the thickness of the friction plate?

Here's a pic. Anyone with experienced eyes have an opinion?

Personally I've always been a "run to fail" when it comes t clutches. If it doesn't slip or chatter, it ain't broke so don't fix it.

Based on just replacing mine, that looks like you have quite a bit left - more than half if not 2/3 of the friction disk left. If it is chattering or slipping as DDaryl said, you should be fine.

Had not really thought about it, but Mother GM put in an inspection port, so I’d be surprised if they didn’t also develop an inspection procedure. Will check the FSM and see if I find one.
