Is this mod really worth it if you are keeping the stock shifter?

Yes. just remove the detent mechanism (screws in/out), take it to a hardware store, buy several washers w/differing thickness' and attach them until you like the feeling.
IMO YES do it

I did it, and it's definitely worth the time.

For a stock shifter I didn't like the feeling AT ALL of the anti-venom mod. Even with a MGW shifter I only had one washer.
That said, there are variances from one transmission to the next, and everyone has a different preference. It's easy enough to try and see if/how you like it.

Yup. It will ease it up looking for 5th and R.

Use both washers for max enjoyment 😂

Definitely worth doing if you don't like how it shifts right now. I did it on my Hurst and it made a big difference, but it's still a notchy piece of crap according to my buddy with his MGW.

I've just never driven with one, and I don't want to pay that much to guess. lol

I did two washers on my '02 vert and it made a big difference. The car had almost 140K miles on it though.

My new to me '02 Z06 has only 30K miles and the sifter is very smooth so I don't think it needs it. I'll see how it feels as the miles add up.

Install two washers and enjoy the experience. Takes all the "notchy" feel out of the shifter without any bad side.

Enjoy
