I just got a deal on a 7,000 quikjack. Do i need pucks to use it?
Yeah. My buddy has the 5000 and uses the pucks and these rubber things that come with the quickjack. It will make sense when you don't the first time.
In other news, I found a set of 4 rubber jacking pucks on Amazon for $14. I bought as a backup set, but they're such good quality, I use them all the time now.
One thing about the quick jack..with enough force you can knock the car off it...
while replacing the sway bar end links I used a bit too much force on the front and the car slid off the jack on the front corner...didn't hit the floor though..got lucky. I was able to lower it and reset it..scary...
I would put jack stand under it now if your going to be hard wrenching it under there.

No pucks needed. The rubber blocks fit nicely in the openings where the pucks go. Thats how I lift mine, multiple times. So, whatever you want to use is fine.
