Does anyone know/have blinking/strobe taillights on their C5. I followed a car with aforementioned - he had them - they flashed three times when he applied the brakes. Talked to him - said they were not illegal - to be sure I checked with state police - they confirmed not illegal. Does anyone know where I can get this modification. Said saved him a few times - especially that his car is low to the ground. Cost was <$60 - well worth it. I tried several places that offer these bulbs - noted that they will not fit our Vette. Any help appreciated.
I built my own plug and play flasher module for my center high mount stop light. I found a "LF100-A" flashing module online and then bought GM gt150 3.5mm male and female connector plugs that match the plug from the harness to the stop light. I put it all together with a set of delphi weather pack/metri-pack crimping tool. It plugged right in and works like a charm. Whole thing cost me $36 for the parts, and $20 for the tool. Now I have the tool to use later on other stuff too. When the brake pedal is applied, the center stop light gives four quick flashes, then four slow flashes, then lights up continuous until brakes are released. Gives a little better warning and piece of mind than simply continuous brake light illumination.
I also added the center brake pulse light. Bought mine from forum vendor, Zip Corvettes 4 years ago ($61) Part # X-1735. Prior to getting the part, I had several almost rear end collisions. After install, none. The pulse light seems to jar the brains of drivers that may not be paying attention.
