Default Stripped Screws

I’m trying to replace the taillights on my C5. I’m having a problem removing the original screws. At least one screw on each light is stripped. All it does is spin and won’t come out. Any suggestions on how to remove the screws so I can replace my taillights?

If there is any way to get at least one lens out on each side you can try reaching in and around and pushing on the stripped screw. Option b would be use crazy glue on the screw head and driver so you can gently pull on the screw while turning.

Maybe use a small dent removing suction cup to pull on the lens while unscrewing?

if you can't get one out try taking off the license plate holder thingy and reaching up from that hole

All good suggestions.

Just a bit of clarity, the taillight screws thread directly into the fascia, which is urethane. Therefore, the screws don't "strip", the urethane simply gets "oversized" from the screws being overtightened. You just "snug" the screws......

This just might work. Good luck getting the screws out.

And if that's the case, get yourself this online, patch the holes and then redrill. I used this on my outer window sweep where the plastic attaching point had broken off.
