Sticky parking brake

On a couple of occasions, after my C5 has being parked for a while, the parking brake groans when I release the hand brake. It is more noticeable if I just washed the car and let it sit overnight. I think it is because some water or light corrosion sets in after a wash. Thoughts?

This is normal and it is your brake rubbing on the wet wheel rotor.

All I can say is if you're going to want the parking brake to operate properly everytime you want to use it, use it every time you drive the car. My cables froze up, after years of not using them. Of course they froze up in the engaged position, and that sucks, trust me. Putting new ones on isn't going to happen in my garage, even with my 2 post lift. Not at my age, anyway....
