Folks,
thanks for your help in advance.
I have a 1999 - one of the headlight adjuster plugs flew off.
(the round rubber on the inside of the lamps, basically attached to the bezel when the pop-ups are on)
I have a spare.
Am I supposed to use some sort of adhesive to hold there?
I searched Google and on here, so sorry for the post if I duplicated it.
I gave up on the plugs for my 1999. RTV silicone would work for a while and then one of the plugs would fall out. I bought the updated 2000 - 2004 bezel design and the updated plugs. That was about 6 years ago and not a lost plug since.

I thought it was me, but the 97-99 years, have not a lot holding it up.
I watched a video about the upgraded bezels...so it worked for you. That's cool.
I will try the silicone approach since I have the spare, but it looks like the upgraded bezels (which I have a different style cap which locks) will eventually be the way to go.
Thanks again
I have a 99 and none of the replacements I have ordered have given me much confidence. The plastic surround I think changes shape just slightly over time. My current replacement is glued in and if/when that goes I'll hunt down some 00+ bezels and do the swap.
Hey xcarter...update:
I ordered some glue similar to your post.
Mine was LePage.
I glued the piece on and tested 2 mornings in a row.
So far so good.
Thanks again!!
I understand what the plugs are intended for but I never used them. Whenever I needed to do some work on the lights during various HID upgrades, etc., I simply removed the shroud. As to adhesive, I used some black duct tape on the inside of the shroud to secure my plugs after losing one shortly after buying the car new in 2004. Haven't lost another one in almost 20 years.

The early C5s had problems with those plugs flying off - I had the issue with both my ‘99 and ‘00. I ended up replacing the entire bezels and plugs on my ‘00 with the updated version that positively locked in place. Did not have any further incidences of losing a plug after that.
Same here. After I bought my '99, I realized that someone along the line had replaced the passenger side with the new design '01-04 bezel and plug. So I purchased a new driver's side bezel and another new plug and now both sides have been updated.
