fierce clutch
Good evening peeps little bit of help please before I commit a fair amount of change to purchasing this C5. I took it for a test drive today and the clutch was so fierce it has a Ram dual disc clutch/Ram adjustable clutch master cylinder fitted. It bites that fierce that the car jolts forward before you get control almost as if the clutch was slipping is this normal with this type of clutch. I've had many high powered cars in my time and none have ever been like this I would be a bit dubious about pulling up behind another car and pulling away. The car has just been dyno run at 790 bhp every thing else on the car runs great I'm just worried the clutch is on its last legs and would have to factor this into the deal price. Thanks for any help with this

Thanks for that Dirty Dog that starts to put my mind at rest a bit. it was only a short test drive as it started to thunder and lightning with the rain to go with it. Didn't get past 4th gear before back end decided it wanted to try to get to the front. Cant wait to get it and a nice day with dry roads.

We used to call those ON OFF clutches. They don't slip.
I don't care for it but there is a time and a place for them.

Thanks Mr Black this wont be my daily driver nice days and show days. i would have loved to have started from scratch again but getting a little old for that now. The person that built the car has also put in a water / methanol kit that he has never used, so I think I know where he was going with the clutch if that's correct and its an on off clutch.
