Default lowering measure

i just watched the Z06 GM owners video

Neil said for track /autocross to lower suspension 10-15 mm

1. i assume this is 10-15 mm drop is measured at the control arm pivot to bottom of ball joint...this is how dealer would measure it
1A. measuring at this point : 1 turn = 5/64" change = approx 2mm
2. how would this translate to frame puck hole measurements ???

id like to see how this changes the car , but i want to set it as he specified (w/o having to go buy the dealer tool )

here is what ive found so far

count exposed threads front should be 8, and rear is 5 (most common OEM set up) important thing is 3 thread diff from front to back (good indication car is "STOCK" height)

ball joint is stationary when car is on ground, so if you measure 10 -15 mm lower from level ground to bottom of control arm front bushing, when adjusting, then you will hit the desired target lowering height

I measured from the center of the lower a-arm's inner pivot bolt to the ground....on a flat surface. This probably gives you a similar dimension.

Or just measure from the top of the wheel openings.

If just measuring lower or raised difference I was taught center lip center to center hub. Also use a surface plate or as level of ground as you can.

Now ride height the MFG designated spots to measure that if you want ride height.

That's OK if all you're doing is measuring the amount you're lowering the car. But, as many have experienced, body panels aren't always hung on the car perfectly the same, side to side, therefore the "top of the wheel opening" isn't always an accurate method.
