I decided to install LED bulbs in the driving lights, as well as the high and low headlights. I used the 9005 and 9006 LED lights made by SEALIGHT that have the adjustable collars (this is needed as the orientation of the LED lights is to be at the 3 and 6 position to get the correct beam pattern)..................
Since the SEALIGHT LED bulbs have the adjustable collars, have you had any issues with oncoming drivers flashing their brights at you? I just ordered some low-beam LED bulbs from VetteLights and they stress the correct orientation also, but I haven't had a chance to install them yet. Since I've read the headlight lowering issue can be solved by just switching to hi-beams before turning them off, I'll pass on the relay harness for right now, but I will make one and carry it just-in-case. Thanks for your info!
If you want to experiment with aftermarket additions it can be both good and bad.
Besides removing the whole headlight system you’re not going to have any practical advantage. Even some of the so called high end replacements just offer a poor quality Chinese made focusing projector. Nobody makes a high quality setup like C6 Morimoto so until then anything is only a stab in the dark at best
Agreed, hard to expect perfection for a car 20+ years old. I just had to do the headlights because I could not see at night at all. Then I just liked how it looked so I got the rest in LED. I still don’t drive it at night a ton but at least now I’d be able to see in the off chance I went somewhere and it got dark before I was able to head home.
Thank you for this write up. It is the best I have found on this forum. I am getting ready to install the LED bulbs and hope you can clear up a few thngs for me. There are two extension harnesses from Amazon. It appears to me that only one is used. When you discuss connecting the extension to the relay you say that you used a scissor to make a "lengthwise" cut on the 9006 extension and then cut the extension in half. I'm not sure what yuou mean by lengthwise - in the very first picture it looks like the extension was just cut in half. When connecting the relay to the extension, does the black wire from the relay get connected to both black wires of the of the extension which is what I believe I see in that first picture.
Again, thank you for you write up and I look forward to your reply.

You are correct that only one extension harness is used. The lengthwise cut was on the plastic wire sheathing. That way i could reuse it once i made the new connections. Yes. The two black wires of the extension harness get connected to the black wire of the relay.
