I’ve been absent from The Forum for some time now. Gee, I think it’s been 3 years. Anyway, I need to replace the convertible top on my 01 C5. I moved to Florida 6 years ago, and the sun melted the back window out of it. I’m looking for someone on the Space Coast area to install a new top. I’m going to buy it online, but I need someone to install. Let me back up - I replaced the original top myself about 9 years ago. Some drunk threw a beer bottle thru the back window, and you know how that works. Anyway, I purchased the new to, and with the help of a friend, installed it myself in one day. Really no big deal. Unfortunately, now I’m 69, just had cancer removed from my bladder and am going thru chemo. In addition, I need surgery on both my cervical spine (2 slipped discs in my neck) and lumbar spine (fuse L1-3). So, I’m unable to do it anytime soon. Im looking at the Twillfast II top, but everyone I’ve talked to want $1200.00 or more to install it. That’s ridiculous. I did it in one day as I said, so that’s just nuts. I recollect a member posting a boat upholstery place in Cocoa that installed his for (I think) $150.00 about 5 years ago. Im in Melbourne Florida, and Cocoa is close. If anyone knows of that particular business or anyone down here that is reasonable, please let me know. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, and y’all have a great day.
I had my top replaced several years ago for about $1200.00 total. I'm not sure which top they used, but it was indistinguishable from an OEM top. The HUGE bonus is that the back window has a lifetime warranty. This place is not close to you, but that should give you an idea of what's out there. I'm sure prices have gone up since then. Inflation has been brutal.

If the top is in good condition why not try gluing it back in place. There are some post's on this forum that have reported that the top can be glued back in. Do a search and you will find them.
I doubt very seriously if anyone in the country would remove your old top, then install your new top, for $150. Thats a 1960s labor charge!! There's adjustments that have to be made, they dont just bolt on and work perfectly. I'm sure you know this, since you've done it before. This is a time consuming job. With labor rates at some places already at near $150/hour, I doubt you'll find anyone to install and adjust your top for under $600. That doesn't include price of the new top itself. I've been wrong before, so.......
