We had the hard plastic one, and I decided to give this one a try a couple months ago, and man, what a difference. It sits lower, so there's less room taken away from my copilot. She noticed it after immediately getting in, and said this was much better than the hard plastic one that was in there.

Back in '05, there weren't as many choices. I have hard plastic single holders. I would definitely recommend dual holders in whatever brand you choose. On my single holders, I cut the bottom out of the holder, and slid on a foam insulator sleeve. Can't see it when installed, and helps canned beverages cold.

Really like mine going on 20 years now.

I don't care for red interior but that is looking nice!

where did you get the wheel and trim pieces from?

Yes, I realize this is an older thread, but I found it doing a search so here is my June 2025 update. Many of the linked cup holders are no longer available, but this one is still offered on Amazon. I ordered it, put it in last week, and yesterday did a 30 mile curvy road trip and it held my Yeti 30 ounce tumbler with no spills or near accidents. It does encroach a little on the passengers leg room, but that is somewhat offset by also giving them a cup holder. And priced at almost half of what the original poster had found it might be a good solution for many; I know I'm glad I found it!

Dont forget to redeem the 10% off if it is still an option.

I have this one as well and it works fine for us. Wife puts her cell phone in the mesh side panel. Don't let the cheap price fool you!

Here's what I did for about $4.00.

I did remove and modify the center console, but it's not required.

I bought this thing at walmart for 3.95. And remove the top. It just pops off.

Then cut off about 1 inch from the bottom.

Then insert the cut off portion back into the cup. It will fit snuggly in the bottom, making the the overall cup about 5 inches tall.

I then removed the center console and removed and discarded the existing cup holder cover.

I flipped the console over and removed the bottom of the stock cup holder with a dremel tool.

Re-install the center console. This gave me an extra 1/2 inch of depth.

This cup will now fit snug in the existing cup holder.

I have tried everything from a Redbull can to a 44oz Sonic cup and everything stays put as it should.

You could probably leave the cup holder cover in place with no issues. One hinge pin was broken on mine so I just cut the other one off.
