Got a Z06!!!!!!!
:D Well, I just couldn't pass it up, a dealer here in town had a 2001 with only 13K miles on it. I have a friend that knows the GM and he got me a price of $34,000 for it. They actually had over $36K in it, and NADA retail on it is $43K, so I just couldn't pass it up. It's amazing what a difference it is from my 92, and even from other C5s I've driven. I wasn't sure I was goig to like the hardtop style over the coupe, but I really like it much better. Car feels super tight, and I don't have any problems seeing out the back window or with blind spots once I set up the mirrors. It does have the memory package, which we really needed since my wife is about 7" shorter than me. Dealer pulled the service record and it's only been in the shop once for a regular oil change. Also, it was bought at a dealership across town, so it is a local car. You can tell the car has been babied, and the tires even look brand new. I can't believe how much fun this car is!!!! :D :D :D
Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Re: Got a Z06!!!!!!! (Jimbo93)
I'm guessing he/she probably had a couple of other oil changes at other places. Regardless, I'm going to go ahead and change the oil/filter immediately.

Re: Got a Z06!!!!!!! (DarkHalo)
Ok, first off let me give the run down on the 92. It is a strong LT1 with 270RWHP, custom wheels (17x9.5" front and 17x11" rear), VBP sport front spring, lowered, Camber brace, Cross bar, and for most of the last year I ran it with race tires on it (Nittos).
The Z06 simply kills it in every category. :smash:
The ride and comfort of the car is incredible. It feels much closer to a "grand tourer" or luxury car, while still having a good sporting feel. It's way easier to get in and out of, and the memory package is great since my wife is 7" shorter than me. The car will absorb bumps in the road that would send the 92 jumping a foot to either direction. You still feel the bumps in the Z06, but the car stays planted and it's more like a notification that you hit a bump, not the huge bounce or jarring impact the 92 has.
The power is absolutely amazing! The car pulls hard all the way to it's 6500rpm redline. It does feel a lot more on/off versus the LT1. The 92 would pull like a freight train from idle, whereas the LS6 feels a little week at idle but then kicks you in the but like a semi just ran into you.
One thing that I always heard people say was they liked how the C4 "fit" better, that you "strapped it on". While the Z06 isn't quite as far to the extreme as the C4, it still feels very "strapped on". It may be the hardtop versus the coupe, but it feels like it fits just right while still offering plenty of comfort.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but the Z06 just blows away the 92 in every respect. Of course it also costs quite a bit more too. I really like the 92, but I have a feeling it's not going to get driven much anymore. Of course the wife is talking about keeping it, so we can have two Vettes to take to events and take both the kids as well. Sounds like a good idea to me, the only problem is going to be the argument of who drives the Z!
Congrats  We keep staying neck and neck :yesnod: Your formula and my Z28. My C4 to your TA or C4 and now C5 to C5. I bought a FRC last Wednesday. You might have me a little in the Z06. ;) We'll have to meet at a track half way since SDR is a bit of a drive for you. :boxing
The C5 vs. C4 is night and day I agree with your comments totally.

Re: Got a Z06!!!!!!! (pdvale)
Yep, got it at Speedway. One of the guys in our local club is good friends with the GM so I was able to get a great deal on it. Of course the fact that it had been sitting on his lot for 90 days didn't hurt either.
