A friend of mine had a 2001 F1 coupe and once the initial WOW factor faded - stuff like weak paint, hydrovlics problems with tranny, electrical glitches - e.g. window stuck in the lower position - all that killed his dream pretty quick and he traded it in for a 740ci + cash.
But they are cool as hell!! :yesnod: :yesnod:
I ran into one on the freeway one night in my '01 Z06 and I have to say I was impressed.
The guy was definently driving it hard; we went from about 60 when I noticed him coming up from behind. In third gear I was able to overcome his momentum and put about a 1/2 car length between us. When I hit fourth however he pulled hard on me. He made up the advantage and had at least a car length or more on me by the time I shut it down.
It was the most impressive head to head I've had yet.
The car is VERY beutiful and I very stongly believe that the ferrari will pull on us on the top end.. But when you compare 50gs to 200,000 ill stay with my vette!
I think its to GM's credit that a stock $50K Z06 is so evenly matched to the $150,000 360. In fact, I think a non-paddle shifting 360 can't match the Z06 in the 1/4 mile.

Ferraris are top end cars. In the C4 I pulled 308s, 328s, 348s, 355s, a 512bbi, and 512TR all below 120mph. The 360 was the first I never pulled, but below 120 I would think the Z06 would have the 360. Beautiful but overpriced and Ferrari still has their little problems. No way would I buy a Ferrari except maybe a 575 and I would rather have an Aston Martin Vanquish.

Saw them both at the Houston Auto Show last night and I would take the 575M with the F1 tranny. That car is awesome. They also had an Enzo there and man is that one impressive machine.
I ran one when I first got my Z06. It was from 60 - 120 or so. I was coming up on him in the fast lane, he was in the slow lane. Before I got to him he pulled in front of me and smashed it. I shifted to third smashed it, I caught him and had to let off or I would have rear ended him. I went to pass in the slow lane, but he started to get over. He could tell I was pulling on him bad, so he got over and waved. It was cool, deffinantly an awsome car, they look like a work of art. I guess they are hand built so they are art.
how about that Enzo?
I downloaded a test drive video off of kazaa, and boy that is one heck of a car. But for $650,000 it should be! I think if i had a $650,000 car i would just sit and look at it, because i know i would be pi$$ed if i got a rock chip or a scratch on it!

Bah....those things are cool, yes, I would own one,.....but frankly, I eat them for breakfast.....I've been in several run ins with a particular red one on I75.....even stock I would pull on him,...and now,...HAHA,...lookout ferrari boys....But, I do give the dude in the red one bonus points for DRIVING the car(like he stole it)......which is more then I could say for some vette drivers...cough cough. :bb
