Hi folks....question about seat belts. Has anyone added short seat belt extensions to their C5 seat belts. I'm find it too hard to reach around and down due to bad shoulders to buckle in. I've tried several extensions on the market so far and the problem is they will snap in to the factory holder, but the seat belt end won't then go into the extension buckle. The factory buckle is a touch wider near where the belt attaches and won't plug into the extension buckle. I could do a little grinding on the factory buckle and I'm sure it will work, but I'd rather not do that. I've been thru several extensions with no luck. Hopefully someone has any info on extensions that will work. Thank, Dave
Back in 2015 I bought mine (Sku 55418;55428) from Eckler's and it fit. Although I did not see it in their recent catalog, you might want to call them to see if available.
Also try taking it to an upholstery shop so they can add the webbing. They have the knowledge. I had some done for my truck last year and they work perfectly.
Back in May of 2004 when I bought my Z06 new, the dealer offered them for free. I had the same issue with reaching down so low to latch the buckle. The extender just latched into the factory buckle.
Several years ago I bought one from Seat Belt Exterender Pros. The two numbers on it are Ar4m and 06 42448 The one I bought was flexible but they only have rigid ones on there web site. Also I think I bought it from Amason.
I have a couple from Seat Belt Extender Pros too. Contact them if you can't figure out which one you need on their website.
Thanks for the info. I didn’t know there was such a thing. Just bought one for the passenger side so my wife won’t have to struggle lining up the buckle.

Thats exactly why I bought one for the passenger side...

I got one from the dealer just 2 years ago. Call them and tell them you need one and they have to give it to you because its a safety issue. They asked for the VIN I think to confirm fitment and then they will tell you when to pick it up.
I cut the belt part off and put the buckle on my own webbing so I can use the factory 3point belts with my race seat when street driving.
I had the same issue with my C5. A lot of the seat belt extensions snap into the factory buckle just fine, but the male end of the factory belt won’t latch into the extension. I ended up finding a custom-fit seat belt extension from Seatbeltextenderpro. They worked perfectly without needing to modify anything.
I have a solid set I bought for the other GM car to stop all the warning binging when checking the mail etc. I will probably use the other on the vette. I do accidentally unplug at the bottom from habit
