I think for the most you will find that most of us use a storage charger on our cars. They are cheap and easy to use. It maintains the power to the car over storage.
Most of us hook in the plug in cable that will make it an easy hook up with one plug.
Keep an eye on battery tenders and make sure the green light is on. Had 2 go nuts last winter, over charged and killed 2 batteries.

My C-5 is stored in a garage that's attached to my home, and which also has other cars parked in it, therefore I try to avoid as much risk as possible. I've been using Optima batteries in my car for years, so I bought an Optima charger, and in the winter, every 3-4 weeks, I put the charger on the battery and let it run through a charge cycle.
A word to the wise on those type disconnects; This came from C&S Corvettes. They had a C5 in their shop with one of those disconnects. It had been to another Corvette shop, and a GM dealer, before it got to C&S. Nobody knew why the car would stall, and not crank over to restart. It had an intermittent voltage issue. C&S figured it out immediately. The disconnect had a thread that wasn't machined all the way to a shoulder. It bottomed out before making a good connection. So make sure when you get one of these units, it tightens up all the way to the contacts, not until it just feels like it's tight.....
