It seems like GM replacement power antenna assemblies are unavailable. Everyone is now selling a Metra replacement. Question is: Is this a direct fin replacement, or am I going to have to make a bunch of changes. to make it work? Some have said it's just a Chinese POS. I would just replace with a stubby, but I am trying to keep it as original as possible since it is a 27K miles Commemorative.
I just put a mast in our 03. The mast kits are very easy to install and you keep your factory motor. Coming from all my years of NCRS I tried to find the best one I could.and not concerned about price..

that won’t work as the motor is dead. I have a line on a used one I am investigating.

Metra's instructions are on their website. Read them and determine what changes are required.
Also, C&S has a video you might find useful:
I was lucky to find a new oem on the auction site a few months ago, not cheap but wanted to keep it original.
Check that place out, you will also see good used ones there
I believe I have found a good used one from a Corvette recycler. Want to stay original if possible. Saw the C&S video. Have know Steve and Lyle for a long time.... They are the Best!
I have found that using a silicone-NOT oil-spray on the mast keeps it working freely, probably reducing the strain on the motor. A buddy once told me he used diesel fuel, wiping it clean after cycling it a few times.
