Default Borla S-type classic vs. S-type ll ???

Looking at putting a Borla S-type on my C5. It's it worth the almost $1000 more (Canadian) to upgrade to the version 2?? Or save the money and go with the "classic"? What's the main difference? Can't find much info. Saw a post on here from a couple years back but didn't get much from it.

The S Type 2 may be slightly quieter and zero drone.

Hello! The S-Type "Classic" is the original system that we developed for the C5 Corvette. Long before we started offering different sound levels and tuning out drone. We went back and redesigned our exhaust systems for the C5. The S-Type Classic will drone. The S-Type II will be drone-free!

@Ian@Borla Is there any power loss between the classic and Type II? I would love to keep the sound of my classic with less drone.

There's no difference in power. The only difference with the S-Type Classic and the S-Type II is the No Drone, so the S-Type II is quieter inside the cabin without resonance.

I love my Borla S type 2 exhaust. There is NO DRONE at all, but when I punch it, the exhaust comes to life. All of this, backed by a world class vendor.

I have the s type 2 and I can say I never had any drone until i did long tube headers and no cats. They now do drone so not sure why that is but something to consider.

I stand corrected. I have the classic muffler. That being said I never had drone with cats and factory exhaust manifolds. If you are not doing a full exhaust I would say go classic with the Borla x pipe. The drone is bad with not cats and LTs but I went the route of sound deadening to help with the drone.

Classic is cheaper but does not manage drone nearly as well as the type 2
