I am new to the Corvette topic, I need a front bumper for a C5, can anyone tell me how to verify if the bumper is an original OEM part ? I want to buy new in Poland (I live in Poland), so it's difficult and I would not like to be cheated.
Welcome from across the pond to the insanity of owning a C5 Corvette. Are you looking for new vs. used? If used, search the forum use parts/salvage suppliers. If new, search the forums new Corvette parts vendors such as Ecklers, ZIP, Mid America Motorworks.

C5 has been my dream since I was a kid, it was time to realize it in Poland it is a very exotic car and draws attention I am looking for a new bumper, used ones are available on auction sites, but my car has never had any damage and its only damage is the front bumper, used ones are most often in poor condition, it wants to have everything in the best condition.

I found a dealer who has a new, and what he claims is an OEM GM front bumper available, I will drive over and take a look, what should be the correct part number?
I have a 2000 model, so IDK if the part# I have fits all C5s, though I suspect it does. The # I have is 10433080, and/or 10413374. I believe the 13374 # is the "old," superceded #. In any event, you should see a larger "GM" molded into it near the part#. Good luck......
So it doesn't matter that there is no GM logo anywhere?
I am not an expert on body parts to know if it would have GM stamped on it. It does have the correct part number and says Made in the USA. Does the dealer have the box it came in? The box will have the GM part number and GM Logo.
Look closely - It's made by Decostar Industries in Carrollton, GA. Not sure if they are an authorized GM Parts Supplier. Probably not a genuine GM Part.

Searching the Internet (BYDECOSTARMAGNA - this is the inscription on the bumper)... Decostar is a brand owned by MAGNA , on the Magna website I found information that they are an OEM manufacturer for GM, I do not know how much truth in this, but trying to find an explanation. https://www.magna.com/company/compan...tion/customers
I had an old damaged bumper from my C5 in the basement, and on it the markings look the same and there is no GM logo either. Perhaps this is the way it is supposed to be, and I am unnecessarily looking for a problem....
Fender work?
Go for it Man... A hot roder being in Poland has gotta have the elk to make the most obscure, ill fitting, auto part function when absolutely necessary. Being over there has gotta add a big ***, and complicated, car guy situation for ya.. That is having to deal dealing with GM.... Ford deals with Europes car challenges gracefully, but has steel bodies. Why would you want a steel body?
