Hey guys. Got a 2003 torch red C5 Z06 with 72k miles. Noticed this bad paint damage behind the passenger front wheel. Driver side does not look like that. Got this car during the summer. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this proof that the fender was resprayed? All body panels seems to match in terms of color and orange peel. Recommendations to fix it? Thank you.
Right/passenger side always sees the worst paint damage from rock chips and the like (in the US), as that's where the shoulder is on the roads for us with the most rocks and debris.
I would just touch it up with matching touch-up-paint (plenty of posts here on how to obtain), and then install a set of RPI splash guards to keep everything looking in good order.
You likely have sand blasting on the rockers all the way back.
I sprayed mine with spray paint and then took an aggressive polish pad with a orbital polisher and it removed all my blasting.
I went with these flaps. No drill and they use existing bolts. They are adjustable too. Note the car in their add has too large of a tires but these are the best I have found with no perinate holes or scratches. They are in a number of colors too. I did black on torch red as they blend into the tires.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking this was normal, just haven’t seen it this bad on other cars, but then again never owned a car that’s 20+ years old.
Gonna touch up and put some rock guards on this spring!
I need to do something come spring as the trash on the roads here is terrible.
I hope some of the folks will post some pics of NO drill splash guards on their c5s

Not really all that unusual to have damage there. Tires kicking up rocks chip away at the paint fast. Short of adding some splash guards or PPF, it’s going to happen.
You can get factory matching paint and touch up the area.
