Default Cutouts on C5

Hi Guys, I want to put some kind of cutouts on my c5 towards the back right before the muffler. I do not want it to hang down or be any lower then the stock exhaust is. Any possible help here?

thanks!

DMH cut-outs are oval in shape and do not hang below the system when installed correctly. I have enjoyed mine for 15 years now.

Good luck

The previous owner of my CE Z06 spent $1100 having remote cutouts added. I personally hate the sound. The lack of back pressure on a stock engine made the car feel sluggish. With the cutouts open at 60mph the drone was over the top and sounded like a dump truck. I cannot wait to find an OEM h-pipe to get these cutouts off the car.

Finding the sound YOU like is the fun part. I seldom run them completely open, actually about 2 momentary pushes of the button opens them to a nice rumble without a drone.

Personally, I prefer a basic exhaust. I've got TSP long tube, high flow cats, custom X pipe and Magnaflow axle back. To make it louder, I made the engine make more power....

Yep,,,, 💯%....
The best way to better exhaust sounds is always more HP. Cut-outs perfectly mimic the ol' rotted out dump truck pipes.
.

The customer cars I build with 500 to 1100 HP sound awesome with full exhaust and mufflers.
...... But each has their own likes. Thats what makes it all fun. . . . . .

I have to agree with others here - it may sound like a good idea to go with cutouts, but the noise is obnoxious IMO and may end up getting old very fast. I would recommend finding a catback system that you like the sound of and combine that with some long tube headers and an x-pipe.
