Default '04 LS1 heads question

I have read that all '04s Corvettes came with LS6 heads....wondering if this is correct. And no I have not taken the time to pull a valve cover off to check the head part number on my '04....thought I would ask first.

Thanks,

Last three digits of the casting number are on a pad at the end of exhaust side of the head, visible with the valve cover on.

241 heads = LS1
243 heads = LS6.

You should easily be able to see it on the bottom right, just below the valve cover on the passenger side head without removing anything.

Definitely not true. They all came with LS6 INTAKE MANIFOLDS, but not heads.

Since I read about the LS6 heads being on all '04s on the Internet....it has to be true.....LOL!!!
I did not know I could see the last three casting numbers without removing anything. Took a look-see and gee....... 241.....I am shocked!!!.....

I knew about the intake being the LS6 one. Would sure have been a $$$ saver if the heads were the 243s towards my project of pumping-up to LS6 horsepower.....oh well.....

Many thanks for the correct info.

Spend some money. Get some AFR or PRC heads. You won’t be disappointed.

Plenty of good aftermarket heads if you want to make a change.

I wish these were available in spring 2023 when I did my head/cam/header swap. LS6 style heads (64cc), CNC ported, all new casting, all new valves, guides, seals, springs, retainers... Made in the USA:

Later C5s also came with LS6 blocks. IIRC, this was started in the 2002 models. So, LS6 intakes-Yes. LS6 blocks-Yes. LS6 heads-Never....

Thats very reasonable price considering all the features. Any other comparable aftermarket heads would be $1,000 more.

Those Texas Speed Bralwer heads do look nice. Any recommendations on what rockers to use with them with an "LS6" cam?

I went with the BTR V2 rocker bearings modification with the stock rockers. The V2 version has a pressed on hardened race on the shaft to avoid wear like some have experienced with other brands.

Or you can buy them already made:
