I have a ‘99, and love it. That said, there are quite a number of problems common to the C5 — mine has had many of them. This link tells the story of many, and a quick google search will reveal a half dozen YouTube videos covering much of the same: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...fo-thread.html
Someone might read through all that and think the C5 is a terrible car. But this is a car with a huge fan club and support network that helps each other and has detailed every possible problem you can come across. Not all C5s will have these problems but it’s good info to have especially for those that are looking at C5s for sale.
The biggest debate out there seems to be between the 97-00 and the 01-04 cars due to the different EBCM designs along with some improvements for the engine and drivetrain on the later cars. Knowing all this I still bought my 2000 and never looked back. I prioritized the options I wanted over the model year.
