Broken Key
Can a Chevrolet Dealer cut and program a new key for a 01 corvette, without the vehicle being there. I have broken my last key. Still have the key parts, including the chipped piece. Closest Chevrolet dealer is 190 miles. I can prove my ownership, and supply vin numbers. Any advice. SB

You would just need to know the ohm resistance of the pellet then you should be able to order a new key with that specific pellet resistance in it then go get it cut.
Something like this:

Or you can perform the VATS bypass (just google it) and then you would never need a key with a pellet.

I Broke a key, had to show my vehicle registration at the dealer. They checked their records for ownership confirmation and $ 75 dollars later I had a new key.
a locksmith near me charges $35.00 for the same service

I bought a key on eBay, went to my local hardware store for a cut, $8 for the cut and $35 for the key.

Note a few of the key codes are on National back order. I had a time finding a Code 3 key.

With proof of ownership a dealer can cut you a key without the car being there. So can a good locksmith at a usually cheaper price.
