Looking to upgrade the headlight lamps in my 03 C5 Anniv. Vert ...... questioning whether to go LED or with some of the newer HID configurations .... Sylvania ZHE were one brand that I had seen recommended by others ...... what seems to be popular with those of you that have already completed this upgrade ..... thanks in advance ..... Archman

Are you asking about just replacing the bulb or upgrading the entire housing?
Bulb upgrade alone is of questionable value. The spread pattern typically gives you a much brighter area right in front of the car (and in oncoming driver's faces) but not much improvement down the road where you need it.
Knightdrive.tv has some good units, as does Sharp Light Innovations. But they are much more expensive than a bulb replacement.
Clearly the OME lamp light brightness sucks and should have been challenged by the Feds for safety issues. Since, I do not drive at night if I can avoid it, if I have to then I decided to get the best option without changing the looks of the headlights or the mechanics . Here is what I did,
1) Replaced the OME bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar Ultra (9005/9006)
2 Installed the Radioflyer Hi-4 harness that allows both the low and high beams to be on at once.
3. Replaced the OME for light with Radioflyer LED Fog Light upgrade.
These three easy upgrades allow ample light on the secondary roads that sometimes I have to travel at night.
Pricy, and the instructions could use some adjustments, but no regrets, would do it again.
The low beams alone are significantly brighter than stock setup, and have a defined cutoff so it illumintes the road ahead, but you don't blind oncoming traffic. Then when you go high beam it's night and day different, pun.
