Question about lifting C5 and tweaking chassis
I came across another thread on this forum (that I cannot find now) a little while ago and the poster was specifically asking about the gap between the door/front fender down low near the rocker.
I'll admit, I didn't see a whole lot, though the gap did look a bit larger than I'd expect.
The replies all said the same thing... frame/chassis damage due to improper lifting.
The car I'm comparing it to is a 2004 Z06 with 9,100 miles, 3rd owner. No issues that I'm aware of, clean (to my knowledge) history.
These are the gaps on mine, they do look a little larger than others I have seen in pictures, but maybe it's just that the picture is further away.
The other thing is that the fender down there seems to stick out slightly further than the door, as opposed to being flush, but maybe this is just part of the fit and finish of these cars. The screw in that location holding the fender is not missing or damaged. It looks like it's where GM put it.
I am not extremely familiar with how folks would lift a c5 in such a manner that would distort the chassis, so I was hoping you guys could enlighten me.
Also, am I being needlessly worried? Just wanting some of you guys' thoughts if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

I loosened the screw and it popped right back into place. Not 3 months later I put my own jack pad on the panel and it popped out again (:
That said, your photo looks fine.
The lower rear front fenders tend to break or sheer at the screw area from age and stress. Use of a large body panel washer and bolt fixes it tidily in most cases should you encounter this.
