Looking at getting a set of ramps ?

Burning Brakes
I’ve had the Quick jack for about 18 months. It already paid for itself, and then some. My retired mechanic father is teaching me quite a few things. I’ve done brakes twice on the vette already due to some HPDE, I’ve done brake lines, brake flush, bilstein shocks, c6 z51 sway bars, oil changes, brakes and oil change on my daily driver, tire rotations. My uncle just recently gave me 250 dollars for putting pads and rotors on his G6, plus oil change.
Get the Quickjack, I’ve always used a mechanics shop for everything. Now that prices pretty much doubled at mechanics shops over the last 4 years. It made sense to get a Quickjack and start doing my own work.
Good Luck.

I love my quick jack too, but sometimes for something quick like an oil change I think it would be easier to just dig a big hole in the yard that I can stand in and just drive over it when it's time to get some work done.

Melting Slicks
ANY ramp tilts the car the wrong way for an oil change. Can be remedied by driving car up on front ramps then jacking up back of the car till flat and putting it on jack stands. Even setting up the quick jacks is not the most pleasant (just heavy to maneuver) for a simple oil change. If only GM put the drain plug on the BACK of the oil pan LOL.
Don't ask me how I know.

Eeesh, careful putting jack stands under the control arms. As you let the car down the arms will swing outward and move in relation to the jack stands...better off putting jack stands under the front cradle. near where the LCA bolts to the cradle.

One two by twelve, fir, a cross cut saw, a few 12 penny steel nails, a carpenters hammer, little effort, voila, you've saved one thousand dallars and had fun! 😊

I like the quick Jacks, but in my garage the wall on the passengers side is about 24-28 inches, on the drivers side it's 3 foot of more. And I'd love to put a proper lift in, but I don't have the hieght as it's only about 7 Foot. in the past ( and or present ) I have put in Snap-In pucks ( Which I sould mention were stolen at the Chevrolet Dealership mechanic ) and I jack the car up till I have room to slide the big floor jack in, and put jack stands under the engine crossmember and then once I lower the car onto the jack stands, all is fine, but it would be nice if the could just drive up on ramps to do some light work.

Race Ramps - fit, work, ultra light, last for years and years, have a removable ramp so you can get under car (seen in one pic moved offset so you can see how they come apart). I have no regrets. Did I mention they are ULTRA LIGHT?

I was worried about the car coming down when I jacked up the rear like 99FRC said. I made a little modification that keeps the car there. Kind of overkill, but better than killing me.....Keeps everything where it should be. Ken

i have a set of quickjacks. 7000slx. The drawback is im used to sliding in and out underbneath from the sides of the car. Easy to do if on jackstands but cannot with Quickjacks. They are also heavy mine are almost 100# each and are tilted against the wall when stored. I dont think they are as portable as everyone says.I was looking at the raceramps with a 14" height that are sold for vehicle wrappers, but for 2000 a set , they are out of their mind. Id buy a satndard 4 post just to lift two feet before that.
For a simple oil change on the vette , i just lift it with a puck but a blocker under while I pop the plug and lower it back down over the drain pan until its done. Not rocket science doing that.

If ALL you do is oil changes, then ramps/jack stands may be fine.
