Manual transmission synchronizer issues
Hello everyone, I have an 02 Z06 and my 3rd and 4th gear synchronizers are toast. 3rd gear won’t engage and 4th gear grinds so hard I’m too nervous to engage it.
1, 2, 5, 6, and the clutch work perfectly.
I’ve called multiple shops in the California Bay Area and have been told time again they just straight up do not want to work on my car. Removing the transmission is just not worth the money to them.
Very few shops (and an hour or more away) will only rebuild the transmission if already removed from the vehicle. I don’t have the means to remove it myself, and was wondering if anyone knew of any shops offhand willing to remove, and rebuild my transmission.
Or am I just better off just driving into to a wall?

Beyond that, in many cases 3rd/4th gear shifting issues are related to the weak aluminum shift fork. A common 'upgrade' is swapping in the Viper's steel/iron 3/4 shift fork.
