Z06 driver seat broken
I was in the middle of installing a seat cushion repair kit, in the hope fo making the driver seat a little more comfortable.
During the install, I found that the previous owner had been in the driver seat already, and did a hack job, and part of the frame to be broken. Great start to a Sunday.
Is this broken bracket something that can even be purchased, or replaced?
If not, then I'm assuming that my only other option would be to swap out the frame. Would I be looking for a standard seat (non-sport) correct? Or is it different for Z06 models?
Anyone in the Alabama area looking to sell some seats?lol
I'm not looking for aftermarket seats, I would like to keep it OEM stock.
For reference for the photo, this is the bottom seat cushion area rear right hand side

There are much better seats but they are not cheap.
if you go in and fix the brakes and the adjuster bushings the factory seats are fine for street driving.
Also with the lower foam off the seat it needs replaced replace it. It is cheap. Then put a piece of burlap between the foam and seat. This keep the cover tight as the original foam gets cut by springs and can in many cases cut through to the leather where you are sitting on the spring not foam.
I tuned up both my seats and they are like new. The covers are un cracked in good shape yet.
I like my seats as they fully function with memory.
Some aftermarket’s if more for racing can get old unless you do track time. They also wear where you slide in. A friend has a F40 even had to make carbon fiber bolster covers as his seats wore through. The leather was thin for weight but it was cheap even in that car too.
GM tried to save money and weight and we are lucky there are fixes for them.
