Default Better Exhaust Choice

I have a C5Z that came with a Borla Stinger axle-back exhaust on it. Sounded just right until I put long tubes and an x-pipe on the car. Now it is just a little bit loud for me - the Borla Stingers are almost straight pipes. Any recommendations on an exhaust that would still be loud, but not deafeningly loud? Don't want to lose any performance either. Maybe Corsa - have a Corsa system on another vehicle and am very happy with it. TIA!

Corsa is always a good option (I have a Corsa on my '91 ZR!) but I'd also consider the factory Titanium set up. With a set of headers the TI system on a C5 sounds really smooth.

Had the Billy Boat Prt's installed a few weeks ago and they sound incredible. Minimal drone and a very deep / throaty sound to it. Pretty mild under normal driving but WOT is a different story in a good way.
Catless headers / heads / cam will be going on soon so im sure itll scream, but the videos on youtube of similar set ups still have the same deep tone to it. Would definitely recommend.

Corsa makes an excellent exhaust system for the C5. Had the Indy Pace Car system on my 2003 and it was awesome.

I have the B&B bullets, I will not recommend those to you, based on reading lots of posts, I’d recommend Corsa Sport with your setup.

I recently put the Borla S Type II system on my stock C5 and like it a lot. Nice deep sound no drone and quiet when cruising but moderately loud when you get on it and it would probably be a few clicks quieter than your older stingers with your exhaust set up.

I have the stock titanium exhaust in my Z06 and like it really well, but would consider the “bypass mod”..my 98 vert had “Route 66” exhaust and it sounded fantastic but could have been just a touch louder… it had zero and I mean zero “drone” not sure if they still make it.

i also had a C6 with a SLP loudmouth II catback…. It sounded incredible but the drone was absolutely horrendous!

After having that SLP setup …. My first consideration in exhaust is reducing drone…. It made my wife and any other passengers never want to ride with me and I never wanted to take it much more than a half hour long drive at highway/interstate speeds.

not sure what setup you should go with but if you plan on driving the car anymore than low RPM’s I would seriously consider something with little to no drone.

No, not really. Pretty loud pipes those Borla S.

With headers and X-pipe the Z06 pipes are a bit too quiet for me but I did switch to them after 12 years running Borla S and it was a good move overall, though I say that grudgingly. The Borla S just sound 'right' for a Corvette. Trouble is.... I want titanium sound when cruising and Borla S sound when having fun. The bypass mod doesn't achieve either. I am considering keeping the titaniums or modifying them on the Z06 but adding cut-outs at the aft end for the proper jekyl/hyde experience.

If I were you, I would really think about adding the catted X-pipe, it’s definitely going to scream and drone a lot without cats. Just my .02

I have LG Pro 1-3/4" long tube headers and their catted 3" X-pipe along with the stock factory C5 Z06 Ti mufflers (no bypass mod). I love the sound! Plus it keeps the neighbors from complaining. is it costing me a couple HP at top end, maybe but I still love the tone and noise level and no drone either.
