Does anyone know of anywhere I could source a new TAC Module? (2002 C5 Base). I’ve found some on eBay and Amazon, but I’m not sure if there are better sites or what the exact part number I need to look for is.
Also attached an image of one on Amazon. Some sources say it will fit, others say it won’t. Would appreciate the help.
Let us go back to the comment about fitting or not.
Is the Amazon one considered a legit GM product and not a chinese fake product?
If legit, why might it not fit? Newer package design but same pin connectors?
The brace which secures it near the ECU can be modified a bit if needed. Heck, an all new homemade brace can be made. Likewise that box can have the metal tabs removed if need be.
I'm just trying to see why a brand new product for less money would conceivably not work as a replacement. Marc is awesome at Vettenuts and his pricing is right on. I'm just thinking about C5s down the line another few decades where electronics get scarce and what some options may be.
If you don't mind me asking, what symptoms were you having that caused you to change the TAC module? I'm getting the reduced engine power, very, very intermittently like once a month, only at startup with a P1518 code.
