Either one would probably work fine. The Castrol has the Dexos 2 designation.
FWIW Mobil current recommendation is the 0-40 Supercar (Dexos R), or the 5-30 you listed above.
I generally use Mobil 1 but on occasion I have gone with Castrol when the price is better, Lately I stock up on Mobil 1 during special promotions long before my oil change is due. Recently I have been using the high mileage Mobil 1 because gaskets and seals are 22 years old although I have less than 52,000 miles on the car. Local lube shops used to let me supply my own oil and filter but have changed their policy so with reluctance I do it myself in the garage.
People overthink oils...put in the correct weight from a reputable company and go.
Unless you are racing the car at which point you need to understand temps and weights, any DD is fine with 5W30 from Mobil 1/Redline/Castrol/Amsoil etc etc.
I don't suggest Walmart of Autozone brand oil though...maybe in a pinch if you need to top it off or something.
Just because I've never commented on an oil thread before, here goes...has anyone tried Shaeffer's 7000?
Was recommended to me by a guy who tested oils and filters. He might also be the kind of guy that drinks Schaefers with a pinch of salt.

So many people over analyze and argue over oil and most have no real clue about the products.
About right now is when the Amzoil zealot checks in.
Generally most name brand oils are the same. Like buying a tape measure they all use the same specs in most cases.
The greatest thing you can so is keep with Synthetic on modern engines as the old are used to adjust cams and even cool pistons now for higher compression and or boost levels Oil does much more than just lube.
Depending on your use on track or in hot or cold climates you may need to adjust weights but other than that do not read more into it than there is.
Read up on the numbers on the product. The SAE ratings and other spec learn them and as long as they meet or exceed required spec you are fine.
What was your mileage span on these tests? Same temp ranges, same RPM ranges?
I’ve done about 5k since I use Valvoline Extanded has I mentioned earlier there’s about half the oil in the catch can for each 1k vs M1 and yes same driving behavior
The intervals when you guys change the oil. You guys can use vegatage oil. Your dumping perfectly good oil at your intervals. Again when wife bought here new 2021 blazer rs she ask when the oil needed to be changed( god dame threw me off her asking about that) they said around 10k to 12k So i changed it at 25k the stock oil. The truck started to have problems, so i freaked out because this could of canceled the warranty if they checked. They put a mark on the stock filter to make sure ur keeping up with maintenance. It ended up being aux fan for heat. so off to 45k with new oil. I use the same as i do in my c5 5w30 pennzoil. 4 oil changes on my car since 2004 ish 90k miles mostly around 30lbs boost over 1k hr power. Im going to start a thread about my rebuild with pictures, And what i found was amazing.
