Default Z06 Wheels, OEM 18inch Square Setup

Is anyone running an OEM Z06 square setup, 18x10.5 on the front and rear?

I can pick up someone's auto-x setup. I am considering refinishing and running that setup daily, with smaller tires on the front than the rear.

Just be aware that the 18's have a high potential to rub the control arm due to the 10.5 width. I have used these to limit the steering rack with great success https://slrspeed.com/products/corvet...-lock-limiters

Sounds like you can do what you propose. Good luck if you go with the square setup.

Yes, but run square tires also so you can rotate wheels when needed.

285/30/18 or 295/35/18 is a good daily setup. Stock C5Z rear tires are 295/35/18

At most a 315/30/18 will also work.

Do you mean 285/40/18 ? I'm running 285/35/19 on the rear of my C5Z which is effectively the same diameter as 285/40/18. It's been nice to have extra ground clearance without raising the car (not to mention the car looks lower because the tires fill out the wheel well better).

How do the 265s look on the front width wise? I’m running 265s on 9.5” wagon rear wheels at the front for my track setup. Having matching wheels would look nicer.

265 on a 10.5 wheel? Going to be a bit stretched IMO.

Crap now I forget. It was either a 285/30 or 285/35 Summitomo HTR Z5...Tire Rack offers both sizes. 285/35 is closest to stock 295/35/18.

Fit, I think is spot on.

I agree with smitty. If you aren't going to run the same size tires all the way around there is almost no point in doing this.

Since a 285/30/18 is only 24.8" tall, I assume you were referring to a 285/35/18 @ 25.9". A 285/40/18 is right at 27" tall, a little much for a C5 front.
A 295/35/18 is 26.1" tall.

*Bumping this old thread* I want to do a 18" square set up.
I currently have TSW Interlagos 18/19... and I don't like the ride quality, the roads I drive on are rough and have pot holes and I really don't like running on 30 sidewalls. Is a 40 aspect ratio not possible on a 18" square set up?

Are you lowered?

I'm bumping this thread because I want to run Z06 Rear square set up.

Are you guys rubbing on full lock up front with that tire width set up?

Does this limit the turning radius of the car? It's already not that good stock IMO

Interesting and understandable thoughts on the ride quality. Is there any reason in particular you went with 30 series tires?

When I made the switch to C6 wheels I also just blindly assumed I'd use the stock C6 non wide body wheel tires sizes. This retains 35 and 40 series tires.

Two benefits I noticed were, it fills the wheel wells up more for a better appearance and it also gives the car a tiny bit more ground clearance without making the car look like a 4x4. I also noticed no appreciable difference in ride quality from the old 17 18 Z06 combo I was running.

It might be cheaper for you to just buy new tires?

Need to establish a baseline, first, because you may be better off keeping your present wheels.
(A) What wheel widths are on the car, now?
(B) What tire sizes are on the car, now?
(C) Which 18" wheel are you considering? If it's C5Z rear wheels at all four corners, those are 18x10.5 and because those are so wide, it's going to be tough to run a 40 series aspect ratio tire, without getting too tall on the front.

Thanks for replying.
The previous owner did the 18/19 TSW set up, the tires were dangerously dry rotted when I bought the car so I just looked for the same size tires when I replaced them.
The rears are 305/30/19. I can't recall the aspect ratio on the fronts and it's currently at the shop right now so I can't double check, I think the width is 275 up front but a little hazy on it. Can I actually go up in aspect ratio on the rear? 35 possibly?

Can you share some pics of your C6 wheels with that set up? I really don't want to lower my car because of the whole rough roads and steep hills in my neighborhood. I think the car is close enough to the pavement as is!!

If you have 305/30/19 rears, your fronts are probably 275/35/18's, now.
Yes, you can go up to a 305/35/19 rear, if you want a taller sidewall.

Previous owner put TSW Interlagos 18/19s, I'll have get back with y'all on the tire sizes, I just know the rears are 305/30/19 off the top of my head. It's at the shop getting some things done right now.

I was considering doing C5 Z06 rear wheels at all corners, yes. But sounds like maybe not that great for a daily driver?
Apex wheels guide on square set ups does mention rear grip will diminish with a non-staggered set up:
