I recently purchased a 03 50th anniversary edition and am doing some minor repairs. The car only has 16k miles so it is in good overall condition.
The driver seat bolsters were not working so I first checked the air pump and it just isn’t putting out enough pressure. I switched it with the passenger side pump and that one works fine and everything holds pressure. In doing this I have a couple questions. First when I was removing the wires I broke the wire going to a resistor that is between the two wires. Everything still works fine so my question is what does this resistor do and is it needed? If I need to I can take the one from the passenger side to replace it however that would mean cutting the wires or trying to take it off and reattach it.
second question- I took the driver side air pump apart and cleaned it however it really wasn’t that dirty inside. I removed the 6 “doors” and put a little silicon on them. Works slightly better but still not enough to inflate the bags. Any suggestions or do I need to change the pump?
