Has there ever been a dyno comparison among different manufactures? Be interesting to see if they all dyno about the same or if there's much/any difference. Would be a daunting task to do it correctly though.
So been looking and shopping around. LG have caught my eye. Not sure if the still make their 1 3/4 as I do not need 1 7/8. Going to call them tomorrow about it. Might be moving around and would need cats, and the stupid smog pump to be working. So would be nice to have that option. Kooks headers with cats are now $3500 so that's out. Shoot kooks x-pipe is more than the Headers which does not make sense. That being said I have been hearing very good things about the speed engineering stuff minus their clamps.
Anyone using Texas Speed long tubes. Found a new set for sale local for a decent price. Older forum posts say get the speed engineering instead. But those were all from 12-13 era.
Unknown when the set was purchased, but my Z came with them and the collectors hung low, visible under the car. They went center high on me twice at near factory ride height here in CT when the car came home, so when I went to build the car I got rid of them and that prompted my negative ensuing TPS experience and positive SE experience.
Prices are high for everything these days- I want to say I paid about $1200 ten years ago for LG Long Tubes and catted X pipe for my 02 vette (should never have sold it of course). I can't remember if it was the pro or street series however. If they were selling the pro back then, I'm sure I got the pro series. That means the pros have increased about $1000 over the last 10 yrs.
I installed AR headers with catted x pipe, installed on jack stands. I did 1 3/4", easy install and no problems after install. I did not have them coated as it was not recommended by AR and my tuner said it wasn't needed.
