Hey everyone,
I finally bought a c6 zo6 shifter off an 06 car for my EBZ. I also bought a shift **** from an 08 or newer car. I didn't know that there are two styles of shift ***** and the bolt holes are in different locations. What can i do to make the old fit with the new? Thanks in advance.
If you want your shifter to feel better I have a few options. Upgrading the box and shifter bushing on the bottom pivot of the shifter helps a ton and it last forever. It will feel tighter, smoother and more precise, without making the stick harder to move.
Compare this to your current shifter bushing, the difference is just as significant for the torque tube bushings and the internals that contain the shaft.
Thanks for the reply. Yes it is an 06z shifter and the **** is from an 09. From what I researched since posting is that the holes on the shifter are in different places and the **** screw hole is different as well. so I wonder if I drill a new hole of file down the shifter a little. Thanks again I’ll post pictures once I get them
You are correct…. 05-07 have a completely different shift ****/lever than 08+….. although you could shorten the shaft/drill a new hole that will not be an easy process at all unless your are a machinist/ have the right tools to do so…your best bet is to just get the correct ****….. I personally went with the 05-07 version because I don’t like the chrome ring on the 08+
