How many times ive taken the car apart and never noticed anything like that but maybe i wasn't looking for it. Could of picked it up from the road.
I'll have to get under it and look around. Was distracted by my headlamp gear stripping that night also. When I went to shut them off they went into contant ratcheting noise till I pulled the key. Ordered a kit of brass gears. Piece wouldn't be from that area would it. Haven't looked at those yet.
It isn't off my mufflers. I've been under the car a few times recently and have never seen anything hanging down or dragging. I think I probably ran it over and with the amount of grease it stuck to the inner fender and fell off as I pulled into the garage. Maybe tomorrow I'll look for grease on the inner fender wells. It had a lot of grease on it. I can't see anywhere else it could have come from.
Lucky no damage I can find. It is completely covered in grease. Just can't find anywhere on my car it may belong. It is only as thick as a piece of aluminum foil folded over. Very thin, 5/8 wide, 4.5 inches long and very thin.
What is this thin metal piece?
