Default mpg!

Took a rode trip along the north shore of Lake Superior yesterday to look at the fall colors and got 32+ mpg. Can't complain about that!

That's awesome. My high has been 28.9 mpg from DFW to Richland MS in March, first leg of a trip to Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. But my roadster's coefficient of drag is higher than that of a coupe, (and we both speed!)

While the mpg numbers returned on the DIC are perhaps a bit optimistic, I will say that all three of my C5s consistently returned high 20 mpg, especially the ones I had a six speed in them. I always said my C5s were performance economy cars.

Driving chicago - kentucky once with a strong tailwind, I got 97 mpg with my prius prime in HEV mode.

It also regularly got over 5 miles/kwh around town.

Bonkers car. bout double the efficiency of my husband's i3. Of course it was also pretty slow, even by prius standards.. I don't miss it.

I never see my corvette's MPG over 30 even when I set cruise at 70. It's pretty bad. But I suppose by 90s standards it's OK. I think the foot-wide steamroller summer tires give fairly high rolling resistance.

I've not looked at nor tracked the DIC mpg vs. that which I compute at each fill-up. I began tracking actual fuel mileage on all my cars decades ago as an early warning system for tune-ups and never lost the habit.

I think I'll clear the DIC mpg and compare it to the real mpg for a few tanks.

From Florida to Michigan with my 2K A4 did an average of 28.6 calculated on paper (yes, I can be a geek) with an average speed of 68.7 mph for the trip. That includes several over 90 mph extended runs and one hitting 147 mph ditching a pesky Camry. How are the colors around Superior? I'd like to take my 84 yr old mom I look after to see the colors. She had lived in Florida for 23 years missing the change of colors.

I used to measure by tank. When I had my new 2000 back in the day I made a point one time of driving with intent to max mpt and achieved 450. That took some real low throttle input and cruise speeds but it could be done. This was also before they began adding mtbe to fuel... It was just straight 94 here. My last one, a 99 with headers, would be hard pressed to top 335 per tank when I tried.

I've checked mpg purhaps once since 99... Well, maybe twice. 🤔
