Default Winter battery woes ?

Ok, I thought I'd ask the one question I didn't ask years ago. If your going to have your corvette winter over as we here in PA and need to deal with the engine idle over the winter, Do you put the float charger on the battery or disconnet the battery all together ? I have a Red Top 75/25 and NOCO Genius-1 AGM Charger / Maintainer.

I have an optima in two cars snd just plug in a Batter Tender unit. I have wired in so it just plugs in.

I leave every thing hooked up.

When I had my C5s, I just hooked the battery tender to the terminals on the battery and left it there unless I decided to take the car out for a drive. Once the car was back in the garage, the tender went back on the battery.

Note the harness comes with the tender to wire in and it take 5 min. It makes for a more secure connection.

I have a battery cover and I can plug in with the cover on.

I have the red top as well and like everyone else, I have the pigtail secured to the battery and just plug it in with the cover on the car. Haven't ever had any issues with it.

My Corvette "winters" in an attached garage, and I'm less than comfortable leaving a charger/tender on the car, 24/7. Since I also use an Optima red top, I bought an Optima charger, and simply hook it up for a couple of hours, or so, every couple of weeks.

Redtop here. Have car stored in my attached garage over winter. As stated above, battery tender connection hard wired to battery. Plug tender in, car cover on, see it in 5 months 👎
