I am storing my C5 in a facility that does not have a power supply. I have lojack on her and it gave me a low battery alert, sure enough I went to start her the last week and battery was drained. Charged it up, started fine. I understand there may always be a drain and in Northern Illinois, when the weather is quite cold it seems to drain quicker. I'm looking to install a battery disconnect/switch like on my boats and wondering if there is a fan favorite of the forum. Any input is greatly appreciated.
If you are storing the car for the winter just remove the battery and reinstall it in the spring….the car draws about 25 milliamps so a fully charged battery should be good for about 3 weeks or so…if your battery is dead after a week you should check for a parasitic drain.

I but a battery kill switch on my '65, then you don't have to remove the battery. Though as of now, I have a battery tender on both my '65 and '03 this winter.
When you remove the battery or have a disconnect switch don't you lose the radio, seat, mirror memory ?? Also doesn't the ECM need to go through a relearn phase once you hook it up and start driving again ? I use a maintainer to keep everything live.

Good advice. I have disconnected the battery in the C5s I have owned, albeit for a short period of time, and did not lose any settings except for perhaps the radio.
