Default Tested out New Suspension

Merry Christmas C5 folks,

This past summer I had suspension upgrades installed, fast forward and I took the C5 our for spirited driving to ge the feel for it. The car is dialed in.

Here's the suspension/chassis parts:LG Motorsports Billet drop spindles, G Speed spec Penske Coil Overs, Spec Corvette T1 Sway bars, with poly bushings, progress end links, Borg Motorsports Premium 100AF bushing, AMT Camber lockout kit, SKF hubs, TPS motorsports1/4” belly pan.

I think this is it for now, but next up are a proper FIA seat, harness bar, and some track wheels and tires. The car currently weighs 3,130 with the Braille lithium-ion battery. I think the seats (Sparco QRT Circuits 15 pounds each) and Apex wheels (18x11 & 18x12) 21 pounds each will take approximately another 50-60 pounds out the car putting me around 3,070 pounds.

Have info / link for the belly pan?

I also didn't know Progress did end links now. Cool. I have a set of their bars.

Right on, and I didn't know they made sway bars lol.

I bought all suspension components from pervious owner who had it for the car before I bought it.

The tunnel plate is a TPS Motorsports piece with thermal shielding. https://www.tpsmotorsports.com/test2...shielding.html

I'd like to have some LG Motorsports drop spindles. Cost is a little rich for my blood, though.

Ohhhh the tunnel plate. I thought maybe you found a belly pan for aero to cover the under engine areas out to the suspension. I was surprised to hear that slightly more skilled manufacturing piece associated with TPS, but the tunnel plate makes sense. They're valid kit and do firm up the chassis.

I hear you and luckily I didn't pay retail. LG did have a sale around Black Friday and they were like 2,600 I believe, but they are back to normal prices I just checked.

Mono-ball at the bottom replaces a ball joint so be ready for a rougher ride. There are more pros than cons though.

Yeah I haven't bought anything from TPS so I wouldn't know, it came in a bundle of parts from previous owner, but all the bolt holes in the tunnel plate aligned with the wholes in the chassis no problem.
It's approximately twice the thickness as OEM and dials out torsional loads. I'm not sure I notice it much. It's been on there for awhile now and I might have noticed a little initially but can't tell the difference now.

I guess you could measure performance data on a skid pad and lao time testing with OEM vs Aftermarket plate.

I think 9 lives racing makes front under carriage panels/parts for the C5.

How harsh are the mono *****? My car intended to remain primarily a street car I went with the Borg delrin 100af bushings and am keeping factory camber bolts vs AMT. The rest is progress bars, white line links, and my old rebuilt RideTech HQs.

I definitely felt the difference over bumps. A mono-ball is basically metal on metal. It depends on your tolerance for a rough ride. I can live with it though.

I had everything installed at once so I can't say which component contributes to most harshness, but I don't think it's the Delrin bushings. I think it's the bottom side of the drop spindle with the mono-ball.

I wasn't aware they didn't have bottom ball joints. That would be a deal-breaker, for me.

its not for everyone. Rigidity comes with a compromise of ride quality.
It does have Borg Delrin 100AF bushings but I don't think that contributes to NVH like the billet spindles with monoball bushing.
