That's exactly what I am running with Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires. So far, the best tires yet on my ride. LOTS of grip, reasonable quiet and the ride is improved over the Firestone's they replaced.
One option would be Michelin Pilot Sport 4S' in 265/40/17 and 285/40/18. Both sizes are available through Discount Tire, now.
Another option would be Nitto 555 G2's in 275/40/17 and 295/40/18. Those are also available from the same source, now.
I am running Continentals 255/40-17 and 295/35-18 and they are very good. Last set was 275/40-17 up front. With 255’s it seems like turn in is better.???

Looks like you have several options to choose from. Finding tires for a Z06 that are from the same manufacturer and in the exact stock sizes has been a problem for a number of years.
I'm currently running 255/40/17 x 295/35/18 Continental extreme contact dsw 06's on stock z06 wheels and they are great. Have lost grip with H/C/I upgrade but that was expected, I'd recommend them.
I put 255/40/17 and 285/35/18 with Sumitomo HTR Z5. The tires that came with the car were Pilot Sport but they were 8 years old and cracking. I'm super happy with them. The handle the power well, where the other ones would hop and pull oddly. These are a lot more comfortable and quiet too. I read others hate this tire on the forums but so far so good!
