I'm sure this has been spoken about many times, but since it is a new year, Has anyone ever found a seat cover for the C5 that is something you can live with over time and still look or feel as good as the OEM seat material ?
I think you're missing the point. OP is asking if anyone has found covers such as those in the $40 for a pair range that you can install in a few minutes.
Not the replacements that require total seat rebuild and cost $450-$1200.

These are not going to be $40 in cost, but look at the offering from Extreme Online Store - their covers look pretty good. No experience on how they hold up and the comfort they offer.
Currently I have a terrycloth seat cover, the original seat material is in excellent and I was hoping to keep them like that. I don't weight that much so I just need something that could help keep them but not going the whole seats replacing the whole and original and not going with any of the excellent companies like Al Koch ?
My advice to you speaking from experience - do it once, do it right, and pay the money for quality. I tried the "budget" way and EPIC FAIL! I have Al Knoch covers now, as good, if not better than OEM.

I was in the same situation but decided to go with the Top Flight Automotive CE covers with new foam. I got a decent deal during the holidays with 15% off and free shipping, $1700 OTD for everything. C&S Corvette has a great video on redoing the seats. C&S also has air bladders ($110 per set) so you can drop those in while redoing your seats.
Slip on covers have invariably pulled loose when I’ve tried them. I have a ballistic nylon cover on the driver seat, but getting the final cross seat strap done would require pulling the seat — and if I do that I’m changing the skin.
I have nothing to offer for pull-over covers. But should you consider the full reskin, I'd offer that you would be better off upgrading wholistically to a C7 base seat than doing anything with a C5 seat.
