Hey guys, I am looking to put an exhaust system on my stock C5Z. I have been going back and forth between Borla systems and Corsa systems, but I recently came across the hooker black heart set. If anyone has that hooker black heart set, I would love to know what you think about it. Also, I am open to suggestions for brands. I would like my car to be hella loud.
Coming back to add that I am also interested in getting the borla s type axle back straight pipe system 12649. If anyone has this system would love to hear what you think about it.
I have never owned the Hooker Blackheart exhaust, but some who post on Corvette forums/groups claim that it has irritating drone. Borla and Corsa have no drone. I have Borla ATAK on both of my supercharged C5s. My C5 with aggressive cam is significantly louder than my C5 with mild cam. The reason for that unexpected difference, I am told, is that an aggressive cam pushes more air through and therefore more exhaust sound/volume.

Well, if you are going to do this, then be super careful removing the stock titanium axle-back, those are bring very good money on ebay.
1) Depends on the tone you want. Corsa is raw high pitched. Borla is more mellow/muffled
2) Depends if you are impacted by drone/cabin noise
3) Depends on if you plan to add X pipe or Longtubes.
Ive had several different exhaust systems on different Corvette's ive had over the years. The Corsa would be my choice but it is not extremely loud but in my opinion has the best sound. Ive had Borla, Billy Boat, SLP and some off brand but I have Corsa's on both of my Z's and I absolutely love it, it is the one exhaust I get the most compliments on from other people to the point where guys I cruise with have bought it. YouTube is also your friend in hearing before purchase
You say you want loud??? First off, keep the cats on, because then it’s just obnoxious. SLP loudmouth is probably as loud as it gets, b&b bullet is what I have, also pretty loud, then you got Corsa extremes. Those are the 3loudest systems I can think of. And of course, these are just my opinions.
A set of longtubes headers, xpipe, and high Flo cats will even make it louder and add some power. Headers are a different level though and require custom tuning
I went TSP Stainless Long Tube Headers, Borla Stainless X-pipe, into the stock Titanium Axle-back. Had bypasses welded into them. No CATS, kept the Ti setup for the weight. Very unique sound.

I definitely plan on doing the borla xpipe if i go with the borla axle back system.
If you want loud on the outside with the least amount of drone in cabin I do have several corsa setups in stock ready to ship. We can go over other options from Borla, Magnaflow & more.
